SampleSize

Calculates optimal sample sizes to obtain a desired study precision for fish and wildlife studies using release-recapture methods. This program can be used to construct multiple "what if" scenarios and observe the subsequent precision levels.

Guidance on use of CBR software is provided in the training videos and user's manual. Individual assistance can be requested by emailing web@cbr.washington.edu — we are happy to answer questions on our software.

Note: The SampleSize manual was tested for screen-reading accessibility using NVDA, which can be found at the NVDA Download Page. It is recommended that users set speech to read "most" punctuation/symbol levels with this manual, as this level functions best for the mathematical equations detailed within. In addition, it should be noted that the ViRDCt model detailed within the manual is screen read as "roman numeral six" followed by "RDCT." The method's acronym is "V I R D C T" and is pronounced as "verdict."
